Dear Imagine Great Western Academy Families,
We want to take this opportunity to thank each of you for your support and your continued efforts to make learning a priority for your child(ren) this school year. We had a successful opening of school with teachers meeting and connecting with their students and families in creative ways. Everyone has made the best of a very challenging and unprecedented situation across the board.
The most recent data shows declining numbers and positivity rates for Covid-19 in Franklin County and throughout our local community. According to the state’s color-coded advisory system, Franklin County is currently classified as ‘orange’ (Level 2) and has been in this status for at least 1 month. Based on this information and assuming nothing unforeseen happens over the next few weeks, we will transition to the Hybrid Learning Instructional Plan starting in October. The starting dates for the Hybrid Model are below:
- October 19th, 2020- Kindergarten-3rd Grade students report-ONLY
- October 26th, 2020- 4th-8th Grade students report (K-8 all reporting)
- Please note that 4th-8th grade students will still be expected to participate in their digital classes when the K-3rd grade students report on October 19th.
Our campus has worked incredibly hard to put enhanced health and safety measures in place and urge everyone to follow these procedures and expectations. These protocols have been outlined on our school website www.imagineschoolsgwa.org and we encourage all families to review this information together. While we know there will be challenges, we also believe that working together can help keep our students, staff and community safe. All plans are subject to change based on the status of Franklin County and our local community. As always, our number one priority is the health and safety of our students, families and staff.
Classroom teachers and academic coaches will be reaching out to families to verify which cohort families requested for the Hybrid Learning Model. Those choices will have to be finalized by October 9th, 2020. We will do our best to accommodate family needs as requested, however we cannot guarantee every family will get their first choice. As always, we appreciate your flexibility and understanding.
