Dear Imagine Great Western Academy Families,
As you know, we made the decision a few weeks ago to shift into the Hybrid Learning Model of instruction. This decision was made because, at the time, the most recent data showed declining numbers and positivity rates for Covid-19 in Franklin County and throughout our local community. According to the state’s color-coded advisory system, Franklin County was classified as ‘orange’ (Level 2) and had been in this status for at least 1 month.
After a review of the most recent data released for Franklin County and our local community as a whole, the current status of our area has changed greatly over the past two weeks. Franklin County has now moved into ‘red’ status which means we are in an Emergency state with a higher likelihood for exposure and spreading of Covid-19. The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 has also greatly increased over this time period, as well.
Taking all of this information into consideration, we have had to make the very challenging decision to delay the start of the Hybrid Learning Model in an effort to continue to keep our students, families and staff safe. The health and safety of our stakeholders will always be our number one priority and we hope you understand why we had to make this very tough decision.
We all want our students to be back in school and to give them back some type of normalcy. We have a duty to put everyone’s health and safety first in order to get our students back into the building for more hands on learning. At this time we do not know how long we will have to push back the start of the Hybrid Learning Model, but we will certainly communicate with our families as soon as we know it is safe to bring students back.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this change may put you and your family through. We completely understand that staying in the Remote Learning Model can pose many challenges. We hope you understand why we had to make this very difficult decision. Please look for more updates soon as we continue to monitor the situation.
We thank for your continued support, patience and flexibility.
